Pre-Orders at La Casa — What It Really Means

So you’ve fallen in love with a piece… and noticed it’s available as a pre-order.

You might be wondering what it means.

Ordering a pre-order piece is just like ordering any other item on our website.

Simply add it to your cart and complete the checkout process as usual. Once your order is placed, we'll begin working with our artisan partners in europe to prepare your piece.

The estimated delivery timeframe will be shown on the product page. Most pre-orders arrive within 3–8 weeks, depending on the artisan and collection.

Why does it take so long?

All the pieces are made to order. Leather bags are cut, stitched and finished by hand. Linen garments are sewn in intimate workshops by skilled makers. Bronze jewellery is individually cast, cleaned and polished, each step done with care and intention.

Nothing is rushed. And that’s exactly how we like it.

Once your piece is complete, it begins its journey from Italy to you.

It travels across borders, through customs, and arrives at our La Casa studio here in Australia. From there, we carefully check everything before sending it to you.

From start to finish, your piece passes through many skilled hands.

Unlike many fashion retailers, we don't produce large quantities of stock to sit in warehouses. Many of the pieces at La Casa are handmade by small artisan workshops across Italy, often in limited batches or made once orders have been placed.

It’s slower than mass production, but it’s also more thoughtful, more considered, and far more personal.

This is what La Casa is all about.

Rather than encouraging overproduction, we choose to work closely with makers who value craftsmanship, quality and tradition. Every leather bag, linen garment and piece of jewellery reflects the time, skill and care of the people who made it.

Choosing fewer, better-made pieces. Supporting artisans who honour traditional craftsmanship. Creating things with meaning, not excess.

And yes… sometimes, that means waiting a little longer.

But we think it’s worth it.

FAQs

Most of our pre-order pieces are either made to order or handcrafted as part of a small production run by our artisan partners in Italy.

Rather than producing large quantities to sit in warehouses, many of our makers begin creating your piece once orders have been received or include it in their next carefully planned batch. Each item is made by hand using traditional techniques, allowing the artisans to focus on quality and craftsmanship instead of speed.

This slower approach is one of the reasons pre-orders typically take 3–8 weeks, but it's also what makes every piece feel so special.

Most pre-orders arrive within 3–8 weeks, depending on the artisan and the collection.

Because every piece is handmade, occasional delays can happen. If this occurs, we'll always keep you updated.

Keeping thousands of pieces on shelves would allow for faster delivery, but it would also encourage unnecessary production.

We prefer to support smaller makers who produce thoughtfully, creating pieces because they're wanted, not simply to fill a warehouse
